Miracles can come in all shapes and sizes, both large and small.

We have a wild green belt area above our house in between another large house above us. Living up there is a variety of wildlife from feral cats, to raccoons, to coyotes, snakes and squirrels.

Over the last 2-3 years in the spring, two young rabbits consistently appeared in my yard. One light brown one, who seemed to be a bit larger, a male, and a light gray rabbit, smaller, which seemed to be a female. They loved nibbling on the grass and clover in my lawn with great delight.

I would come outside and sit on the park bench near my lawn.  The two young rabbits seemed happy to see me and appeared almost tame.

My daughter Jaina saw them as well. “Oh, Mom, they are so cute! They look like …

“Harcourt and Sweetclover? Yes, they do, don’t they?”

My friend Jason, who sometimes does part time computer work for me, came over to see me for some work. He is very tall!  He spotted the young brown rabbit on my lawn by the kitchen entry.  Jason noted that he seemed quite tame. He made the mistake of trying to go over and touch him. The little brown bunny would have no part of it. The quick young rabbit dashed into the bushes in a flash. Jason scared him so badly he did not appear again for about two weeks.

During this season, I was contemplating my children’s book manuscript,  “Harcourt’s Great Adventure.” It was a reminder that I was very late getting it out there. I knew I couldn’t wait any longer. Seeing the two young rabbits before me in my yard was a constant reminder.  Destiny was waiting.

You see, these rabbits were not the same rabbits I saw every Spring; they appeared to be from new litters in the wild coming from above our house.

This is the amazing part. Since the book has been published just lately, (after kind of being in mothballs for a while) I have not seen them appear again.  This is a bit of a mysterious phenomenon.    What do you think?
