Kathie FitzPatrick

A Baby Boomer child, Kathie Fitzpatrick is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and grew up enjoying all the local color and beauty of the area. From enjoying family trips over to northern California beaches, to exploring now famous landmarks of the area. Some memories range from her dad, Henry, taking her out to lunch at the famous Cathay House in Chinatown as a young child, to her Mom, Ruby taking her and the siblings to the historic “Playland at the Beach” with famous 18 ft character, the hot air propelled “laughing Sal” greeting all who arrived there, to San Francisco Zoo and Golden Gate Park– Kathie had great experiences growing up in the San Francisco region.

Later in her high school years, living in the Contra Costa area, Kathie excelled in Advanced Art, Music, Writing, Public Speaking, and Drama.

"ANGEL PROMISES"

Firefighters throughout the world joined together to grieve over the loss of four young wildland firefighters. It was on a hot dry July 10th day in 2001 when 18 year old Karen FitzPatrick of Yakima was trapped with three young comrades and died. The whole nation was in shock. Safety issues sprang forth from the tragic fire that will be heatedly discussed for infinity. "Angel Promises" is a well written memoir about a lovely young woman who was denied adulthood by circumstances. For lovers of poetry, this book is a must read. Verse is incuded by both Karen and her mother Katherin (the author). The reader will obtain an understanding of the physical events that were never reported by the media relative to this fire in Northern Washington state, but far more important is the way the emotions leading up to and afterwards, are portrayed by beautiful verse. I highly recommend "Angel Promises." Of all the "tags" or key words available, I think "Inspirational" would far outshine any other possible tag. Kathie FitzPatrick's book, Angel Promises, is a journey into the odyssey of losing someone precious in one's life and then, through the process of this experience, attempting to find a purpose that goes well beyond the loss and the pain. The book is the story about Karen, her daughter who died in the Thirtymile Fire in July 2001. It is a story told through Karen's poetry, writings and experiences. But Angel Promises is also a dialog by a parent, and rightly so, as it describes a mother who, while celebrating her daughter's life, at the same time, is sharing her own suffering, questions, and her experience in finding answers through her faith. The book is a dialog rooted in the nature of faith and that age old question, why do these terrible things happen? Through the compilation of this experience, Kathie has modelled in tangible terms, through the publication of these thoughts and memoirs, a method by which others on this journey can rediscover those lost as well as themselves in a way that reaffirms the assurance that God still cares. Angel Promises would make an excellent background reading for courses dealing with the teleology of human suffering or the challenge of personal loss.

This book will truly inspire anyone of any age! It is highly recommended, very heartwarming read. Wonderful gift for ANYONE. Must have book for any library!! It is in ours (signed by the author).

"Whatever Happened to the Zodiac Killer?"

Katherin B. FitzPatrick's new book, "Whatever Happened To The Zodiac Killer?", was certainly a page turner for me. I appreciated, actually loved the book, and also enjoyed the fact that it is a beautifully rendered product with an excellent and perfectly spaced font. A devoted Christian family, their story, what happened late one night in San Francisco, before and later on is a very worthwhile read. It is believable to me what happened that night. What one will read with a heart open to good will increase one's faith in God's protective care through His angels. What happened that night I do believe made the Bay Area a safer place for everyone. That police files regarding this case have been obscured for whatever reasons are unfortunate. With today's processes, such as the Amber Alert, one would hope that such confusion will no longer take place. The author's skillful narration adds depth to the characters and the mysterious supernatural occurrence enriches the story, making it a compelling read for fans of true crime with an interest in the unexplained.

"The Wish" is a story told by a little rock who thought the she was dull and wished that she was a star instead. Over the course of this 49-page book, the little rock comes to realize the blessings of the relationships and the ordinary things that we all take for granted along our life's journey; and in the process, the little rock comes to undrrstand that she has value and is precious herself. This sweet book with its colorful illustrations will stimulate good discussions about values, self-worth, being content, and recognizing the blessings that we have been given.

What a great story!! My 9 year old son really liked this story. I enjoyed reading it to him. The actual books illustrations are way more colorful then the digital version also. What a blessing!!
